Calamity Days

Ted Strickland was the governor of Ohio last year and is the person responsible for only allowing 3 Calamity days for Ohio Schools.  John Kasich plans on lengthening Ohio's School Calamity days back to 5 days. He is the Governor Elect of Ohio and will take office next month. Kasich said when he takes office he will change the calamity days back to 5. John Kasich said "because of the early arrival of snow and bad weather this fall, a number of Ohio school districts have already exceeded their three calamity days and face the prospect of having to make them up during spring break or by extending the school year in June."  Kasich also said that many children, parents, and school officials have complained to Kasich.
